Youth Education And Empowerment

In response to the challenges Haitian children face, our program provides both academic and social support

Youth Empowerment Program

In response to the educational and social challenges faced by Haitian children, the Youth Empowerment Program includes tuition support, tutoring, mentoring, teaching English, and youth development activities.

Education

At our partner schools—École Mixte Évangélique Le Messie, Collège Les Sophos d’Haïti, and Institution Mixte Source Divine—we provide support for tuition, fees, and supplies to ensure students stay in school. To address learning gaps from prolonged classroom disruptions, we offer tutoring, particularly in math and reading. Our long-term goal is to expand educational opportunities by introducing basic computer training, internet access, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) initiatives. These efforts will foster interest in STEM fields and equip students with essential skills for the 21st century.

To further enhance the quality of education, we plan to provide teacher training programs focused on modern instructional techniques, classroom management, and subject-specific best practices. By equipping educators with the tools and knowledge they need, we can improve student outcomes, create a more engaging learning environment, and strengthen the overall educational system in our partner schools.

English Language Club

The Speak English Together Club (SET-Club) is an informal school which teaches kids ages 8-17 English twice a week for free. The curriculum includes both written and verbal testing. Students learn the alphabet, pronunciation, vocabulary, reading and writing English. Students take tests, scores are provided, and their progress is monitored. This is done through traditional classroom instruction, books, videos, and movies. In 2023, we held the first English summer camp attended by 70 kids.

Life Skills Training and Mentorship

We offer life skills training to empower youth with essential skills for personal development. Mentorship programs connect young individuals with experienced community members to guide and inspire them.
