Supporting Children’s Education While Building Stronger Families

Education remains an important part of Home Roots Foundation’s work because children’s opportunities are closely connected to the economic circumstances of their households.

Our approach has evolved from providing education assistance as the primary intervention to seeing education as part of a broader two-generational strategy.

When women have stronger businesses and families have greater financial resilience, parents have more capacity to support their children’s education.

For participating families, HRF may also provide targeted assistance with essential school costs when those costs would otherwise create significant financial pressure.

Youth Learning & Development

HRF supports opportunities that help children and young people remain engaged in learning and develop skills for their future.

Activities may include:

Education Support
Assistance with essential school expenses for eligible participating children.

Tutoring
Additional academic support where students face learning gaps.

English Language Learning
Through the Speak English Together Club (SET Club), students have access to free English instruction and opportunities to develop language skills.

Life Skills & Youth Development
Activities that strengthen confidence, communication, leadership, and personal development.

Future Skills
As resources allow, we hope to expand opportunities for digital literacy, STEM exposure, and other skills relevant to young people’s future education and employment.

Our goal is not to create two separate programs for mothers and children.

It is to recognize the connection between them.
