Youth Empowerment Program

In response to the educational challenges faced by Haitian children, our kids program includes academic support in the form of scholarships, tutoring, mentoring, teaching English, and youth development activities.

Tutoring and STEM

We offer tutoring, especially for math and reading, to help students after missing significant classroom time in the last few years. Our goal is to further expand educational horizons by eventually offering basic computer training, internet access, and introducing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education initiatives. This will encourage interest in these subjects and prepare them for a 21st century world.

English Language Club

The Speak English Together Club (SET-Club) is an informal school which teaches kids ages 8-17 English twice a week for free. The curriculum includes both written and verbal testing. Students learn the alphabet, pronunciation, vocabulary, reading and writing English. Students take tests, scores are provided, and their progress is monitored. This is done through traditional classroom instruction, books, videos, and movies. In 2023, we held the first English summer camp attended by 70 kids.

Life Skills Training and Mentorship

We offer life skills training to empower youth with essential skills for personal development. Mentorship programs connect young individuals with experienced community members to guide and inspire them.

SET-CLUB

Speak English Together Club

Speak English Together Club is an informal school which teaches kids English on Thursdays and Saturday mornings for free. The curriculum includes both written and verbal testing. This is done through traditional classroom instruction, books, videos, and movies. Besides teaching English, SET-Club also exposes students to other cultures (mainly USA). SET-Club was founded by Herold Morvan and his friends on February 13, 2016. The idea for this came about because Herold had a strong desire to help his country and increase opportunities for young people.
